We are almost at the end of January! Thank the lord because this gal has stretched the budget to its limit! The good news is, your skin doesn't need to be as dull and grey as it is outside. And during these colder months, you can't afford to neglect your skin. So, how can we get that much-needed glow on a budget?
Skincare Products Under £5
Don't fret, my loves, because there are bargains to be had. I'm sharing my top 3 picks that are available at Boots all year round (because savvy shopping is for every month of the year).
Not only are these products affordable, but they are also of fantastic quality. There are no compromises here! If you decide you want to go for all three of these Boots skincare products, they will cost you a total of £6.05! I know, unbelievable right?!
Boots Traditional Glycerin and Rosewater 200ml - £2.75

I know this looks like something from the chemist in 1985, but don't judge a product by its label! This toner is packed with silky glycerin that leaves the skin soft and bouncy. The rose water instantly refreshes and feels awesome at the end of the day after a double cleanse. Lightly soak a cotton pad and sweep all over the face and neck for an instant glow! And at £.2.75 it's a steal.
Boots Everyday Cucumber Eye Gel 15ml - £1.65

An eye gel that everyone needs in their arsenal. I regularly battle puffy eyes, and eye bags are my enemy. Now, I'm not saying that this is going to totally eradicate those issues (only surgery can do that, babes), but this cucumber eye gel will give you some sweet relief. It's especially refreshing if you have tired eyes, too. I've applied this over foundation as a pick me up, and as long as you're delicate, it won't disturb you make-up - winner!
Boots Everyday Sensitive Skin Moisturising Cream 100ml - £1.65

If you have dry or sensitive skin, it can be tricky to find an affordable moisturiser on a budget that won't irritate. However, this is the answer. There are some luxury brands that I adore when it comes to moisturisers, but I keep coming back to this one time and time again. Use day and night, and don't forget to 'take it to the tits!' as the wonderful Caroline Hirons would say (if you know, you know). But seriously, don't neglect the neck and decolletage for the ultimate moisturisation.
Budget Skincare Under £5: Final Thoughts on Affordable Beauty
The beauty industry is competitive; each brand is fighting for your custom. A Brand like Boots wants you to purchase their products more than once, especially when they are made this affordable. When it comes to budget beauty, don't be put off by the price tag. These products perform just as well as some of their luxury competitors, sometimes better!
Often, budget beauty means the packaging is cheaper, but the product itself is fantastic. Thanks to social media, we are bombarded with expensive brands that have become more of a fashion statement than a function. If you have the budget for luxury, go for it. However, if you think you need to put high-end products on the credit card to see results, think again.
One more thing...
I never talk about products I haven't tried myself. And when it comes to skincare, I will trial products for at least a month. I do this because it's impossible to know if a product is any good unless you give it time!

These products have worked well for ME. I'm 49 with dry to combination skin. I wear SPF every day and try to keep out of the sun. I've had no Botox or fillers, etc. I've been a beauty writer for over 10 years for various publications, and I'm a qualified make-up artist, so beauty is my thing! When it comes to research and budget shopping, I'm a bit of a pro as I've spent over 3 years working as a shopping and savings expert for MyVoucherCodes.
